The Delano is listed as one of Washington’s “Best Addresses."

What our residents are saying:

Adam E.

Former Resident at The Delano

I lived at The Delano for a year and a half (2017-18). I only ended up moving to be closer to work. It was a great experience living there. I lived in a 532 sq.ft. studio with a great view. The building is very comfortable in a very nice neighborhood. I highly recommend The Delano!

Former Resident at The Delano

We lived at the Delano for two years and it was a great experience. The staff is professional, responsive, and most of all: they are kind and friendly. The building is spotless, the apartment has retro charm with modern updates, and the neighborhood is safe and lovely. Close to the red line and quick to downtown. We loved living here and really will miss David, Dorene, Juan, and all of the kind staff.

Resident at The Delano

The Delano is the best-managed building I've lived in among the dozen-plus properties I've rented in the last 20 years.

I moved into a huge, quiet 1-br in 2016, and have no plans to leave. The property is extraordinarily well-maintained (Jose is an expert at pretty much everything, while the cleaning people keep it spotless), and the management is very sensitive to preserving the building's 1940s art deco character while also keeping it modern. The apartment has a new kitchen and bathroom, and huge windows, but also original ornate cabinets, shelves, and arches.

Dorine, the front-desk attendant, is warm, welcoming, and all-knowing--she'll remember that I received a package even if I've forgotten. Finally, David, the manager, is absolutely superb. He's ultra-competent, knows all sorts of tidbits about the history of the building, and does his job with professionalism, kindness and humor.

Erin Taylor

Resident at The Delano

I lived in a 1BR at the Delano from 2011-2019 and have only good things to report. It is a special little community of friendly residents ranging from just out of college, to families with kids, and older folks. The management company and staff keeps the building in excellent shape, are extremely attentive to maintenance requests, and fosters the sense of community with quarterly gatherings. You can't beat the location and the roof deck is great too. I will always fondly remember the Delano!

Resident at The Delano

I lived here for two years and could not have asked for a better experience. The building is well maintained, the staff are all professional, friendly, and kind, and the building-wide events are held regularly with great attendance. Highly recommend to anyone looking to live in a residential yet accessible neighborhood in DC.

Resident at The Delano

I loved living in the Delano. The people, Cody the property manager and Dorine who works security at the front desk to name just a couple, are wonderful to be around and so accommodating and helpful. I always felt safe and welcome at the Delano. The apartments are beautiful and have modern appliances. It's also in such a convenient location to the red line on the metro. If I find myself back in DC, I will certainly be looking for places here. Can't say enough!

This is a great building if you don't have pets. The only reason I am moving out is to get a dog. As of this review date, Mark is the manager and he is terrific. The apartments have all been upgraded recently, and even though the a/c window units may seem cheap, they work fine. Close to metro red line and rock creek park. Very quiet and tons of beautiful trees. Easily the best price in the area for what you get.

I've been living at The Delano for just over two years now, and am very satisfied with the living experience. The building is picturesque and well-maintained, many of the apartments are newly renovated (including the one-bedroom apartment I'm in). There is a nice amount of space in the living room, and having an in-bedroom washer/dryer (again, for the renovated apartments) is a big convenience.

The neighborhood is refreshingly quiet, but within walking distance of Woodley Park/Connecticut Ave and the Metro station.

The Delano is a wonderful and friendly apartment with great management and staff. I very much enjoyed the location which is just a few minutes walk from the metro, and in a quiet area of DC. It is great for people who want to be downtown but also enjoy the benefits of a residential neighborhood. Also great for running! In my time there, I had nothing but positive experiences. Management is responsive, maintenance was efficient, and the security staff were always friendly and helpful. The only thing I missed was having a personal washer/dryer, but I never had a problem with the facility in the basement, and rarely had to wait for a machine to open up.

My husband and I lived at the Delano for almost three years and we were really happy. The space was really nice and updated and perfect for two people sharing a one bedroom. The best part about the Delano (and all of Keener Management) is the building staff. They are all so personable and professional and go above and beyond to make their residents feel at home. Maintenance requests were always taken care of within 24 hours and emails are answered promptly. You can tell that they all take their positions seriously and genuinely want their residents to feel comfortable. I would suggest the Delano/Keener to anyone looking for a place to live in DC!

I have been a resident of the Delano for 2 years now. The building has been hands down the best place I have ever lived. The management is responsive and quick to fix any problems. The building itself is well maintained, with no rodents or bugs. The walls must be vault thick as I never hear my neighbors. The building seems to be fairly energy efficient as my electric bill is much lower than my last apartment. The have solar panels on the roof that might help lower the costs. The main downside to the building are the rents, which seem a little on the high side. The building also doe not allow pets.
