Welcoming a New Harper Resident

With so many new options in DC, finding a new place can be challenging and stressful. Sarah K. recently moved in to The Harper and offered to share a little about her apartment-hunting experience.

Tell us a little about yourself.

Born and raised in Indiana, I recently moved to DC by way of California, the UK, NYC, and Bethesda. After getting a PhD (DPhil) in International Relations at Oxford, I started working as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Co. I love to travel, do yoga, and spend time with friends.

With so many choices for apartments in DC, why did you choose Keener Management over our competitors?

I loved the feel of the building – particularly the common spaces. Everyone I met – tenants, management, and building staff – was kind, considerate, and welcoming. Compared to similar buildings, The Harper has more natural light, cleaner common spaces, and better finishes within the units.

What features attracted you to this particular apartment?

I love the nearly floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and bedroom – the whole unit is filled with light and has wonderful views of 14th street. The space is also used in an extremely efficient and livable way. I could easily have 15-20 people over for a party in this small but well-designed, well-lit space.

14th Street is a particularly attractive location, what is your favorite attraction?

The access to bars and fitness facilities is unparalleled. For food, I love Lupo Verde, Matchbox, and Saint-Ex (all on this block). But I still have so much to explore!

There is indeed a lot to explore, and we are happy to welcome you to your new home at The Harper!
