Featured Day Trip from DC: Field of Screams

Halloween is quickly approaching, and Washingtonians are getting ready to buy their costumes and plan their Halloween debauchery. We’ve already mentioned some of our favorite Halloween events happening in the D.C. area, but now we want to talk about the number one rated scream park you don’t want to miss.

If you want to get out of D.C. for a horror-filled night, Field of Screams is the best trip for friends and family who love to be horrified. Field of Screams is the largest, most popular, and was awarded “best of” in all of Maryland, D.C., Virginia and Delaware, and there’s definitely a reason why it has earned those titles.

Not only is this Maryland scream park large, but it is completely terrifying. In fact, it is so terrifying that they advise that young children under the age of 13 should not visit their park. If you want a good scare, leave the kids at home and take a trip with your friends or family to Field of Screams.

Every year, the staff comes up with new ideas to scare their patrons, and this year, The Field of Screams’ newest attractions include the Haunted Trail and the Nightmares in 3D Haunted House. The Haunted Trail’s horrific theme is haunted campground. It holds nine stations dotted with haunted houses, terrifying looks and sounds, and 20-year-old dead campers all throughout the haunted forest. It is actually considered one of the scariest attractions in the entire park. In the Nightmares 3D attraction, you take a petrifying walk through a haunted house that will haunt all of your senses for an amazing and terrifying experience.

Even with these scary and newer attractions, the Field of Screams’ old and faithful attraction, the Trail of Terror, is still considered as one of their scariest attractions yet. It will take 35 minutes for you and your friends and family to travel through a haunted forest with 13 haunted houses scattered throughout the woods. But be careful because you will also run into some zombies and other creepy creatures of the night.

Field of Screams in Maryland is just 54 minutes away from D.C., so grab your friends and family and go to the number one scream park for a night of horror and Halloween spirit.
