Washington, D.C. has some of the best craft beer at D.C.-born breweries such as Atlas Brew Works, Capitol City Brewing, DC Brau Brewing, and so many more. Washingtonian beer lovers rave about their local breweries and the delectable brews they have to offer, but we are raving about one brewing company outside of our beloved D.C. area.
This month, our featured day trip is to the Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn, Va. Just a little more than a 45 minute drive from D.C., the Lost Rhino Brewing Company has a great selection of craft beer for its patrons to choose from.
Grab your brew-loving friends to take a tour of the brew house on a Saturday afternoon, which includes a souvenir Rhino tasting glass and a chance to purchase a fill of anything from their craft beer line-up.
At the end of the tour, you can visit the tasting room where you can purchase some of their Lost Rhino Brewing Company merchandise and try their ever-changing beer menu. You can enjoy a beer at one of their tables while listening to live music or purchase a growler filled with beer to enjoy at home.
If you decide to visit this month, try their seasonal beer lines for fall and winter. Märzen is their fall beer designed to compliment the flavors of the season with its malt flavors and toasty amber lager. The winter beer line Woody Stout is bourbon-barrel aged stout with a blend of spicy chocolate, vanilla and coffee. You do not want to miss out on these delicious brews, so make sure you head to the Lost Rhino Brewing Company before the seasons’ end.
