I lived in the Harper for 6 years in two different units and loved every second of it. I'd honestly never have moved if the building had 2 bedroom apartments in it, but we just needed more space. Aside from it being in a great location, the entire staff (from the front desk to maintenance) were incredibly helpful with everything from installing fixtures to fixing drains to putting lunches I forgot to take to work back in my fridge for me during the day. Jason, the property manager, was always available to answer any questions and I loved the rooftop views from the patio (and also from the well-located and equipped gym). Can't recommend this place enough!

I've been at the Harper six months now and it's simply the best apartment I've lived in, which was really important to me because this follows ten years of living in my own homes... frankly I was a bit apprehensive about being in an apartment again. But this place has exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways.
First off the neighborhood is top notch. Bus line across the street and maybe five minutes to get to the Yellow/Green metro line. Across the street from Trader Joe's and then down on P you have the Whole Foods. Go up to V and there's an organic market. Tons of popular restaurants and bars in the area (highly recommend you seek out the speakeasies, for a more intimate and well crafted drink.)
The building itself still feels new. I'm frankly amazed by the inter unit sound isolation. I don't really often hear my neighbors or the above or below people. Only real place the sound leaks through is the front door as people go to the elevators. Even the appliances are quiet and has me searching for quieter fans for my place in California.
Electric and water are included in your rent (no gas sadly, I love cooktops). You just have to cover cable and Internet (but they do have an alternative internet provider if you wish to avoid Comcast). The rooftop deck is great too. The building is safe with someone at desk throughout the day and night who care and remember the residents. The rooftop deck, while lacking a pool does have great views and grills for use. You just can't beat this location. The building management has been great. My one maintenance request was to hang my flat screen TV for me (a. Surprised they allowed that and b. Surprised they would do it for me and c. They had it done the day after the request). I mean if they. An hang the tv the next day I'm skeptical that real priority needs aren't dealt with.
I'd recommend this place. Especially if new to DC and wanting to be extremely conveniently located.

9 1/2 years and 3 Keener properties and it is incredibly difficult imagining living anywhere else! From M Street Towers with Jason to the Harper (where I followed Jason) to the Asher with Tasha, I have had the best experience with the best managers at the best management company. Apart from the amazingly well maintained properties, it's the people who truly make Keener great. Jason and Tasha are wonderful managers who go miles above and beyond. Maintenance at each building is stellar and responds to any issues at lightning speed. I remember submitting a ticket about my microwave not working and by the time I came home from work I had a brand new microwave in its place. This is just one example of how quickly any issues are resolved. Keener has properties that fit will fit any situation in great locations around the city and I can't recommend them enough!!! I have recently moved out of state and fear that I am no spoiled for all other management companies!

The Harper is an amazing apartment complex! My daughter lives in a jr studio which has been ideal! May seem small but it isn't and she has it very styled and decorated! The location is perfect, next to restaurants and across the street from Trader Joe's. Shopping and gyms close by. 2 mile walk to "The Mall" - museums and monuments.
The building has amazing amenities- great rooftop, gym and the building is maintained so well! Jason, the property manager is very responsive although there haven't been any issues.
If struggling to find a place- move to The Harper.

I have lived at The Harper for a few weeks now, and have nothing but positive things to say about my experience thus far (and I'm a critical person).
The property manager and contact, Jason, was very professional and helpful from day 1 when I reached out for a tour. It was easy to schedule a time with Jason to see the unit I was interested in, and upon seeing it and loving it, made the application and finalization process simple and quick.
At a first glance, the units appear small. However, my junior 1 bedroom is the perfect size for me, and you quickly realize how efficiently and intelligently the space was designed to maximize use and storage. After settling in, I now feel I have the perfect amount of living space. The finishes and amenities are also great, and very rarely can I hear my neighbors.
The location is phenomenal. Access to the metro, DC's best restaurants and nightlife, as well as to a grocery store (Trader Joe's). In my opinion, there is no better location to live in DC if you want to be in the middle of all the action.
Shoutout to Luis, who is exceptionally friendly and has promptly handled any and all maintenance request I've had.

I lived hear for two years and highly recommend it.
Though it's right on 14th St., my room was exceptionally quiet. We couldn't hear any of the partying on the street, and could barely hear our neighbors.
The rooftop has great views, and the management team does a great job keeping the common areas spotless.
The management team was also always quick to respond to our maintenance requests. Luis was always kind when he came to help us with tasks ranging from changing the air filters to fixing the dishwasher.
My main contact with the management company was with Jason. Jason is one of a kind. He welcomed me when I moved in, helped me in when I locked myself out, organized events for residents, etc. etc. He and the rest of the team (thanks Eugene!!) really made this feel like a home for me.

Every step of the way - from moving in to moving out - Jason and the staff at the Harper were as helpful as you could possibly ask for. I had a wonderful experience staying there and couldn't recommend the building any more. Everyone that works at the building cares about their job and will take care of you.
The location cannot be beat and the rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable. Metro right around the corner (not that you will ever leave the area).
The only reason I left is because I moved from DC.
Thanks for everything!

Lived in the building for over a year. The building is great. The management is great. I only left because I moved to a new city. I miss it already!

I absolutely love living in this building. I have a lot of good things to say!
The Apartments: I literally toured and analyzed about 15-20 different apartment complexes in the Logan Circle/14th street/U street/Shaw area. The Harper was our favorite in terms of price point, location, building features. The apartments are smaller and narrow (You're paying to live in this prime location) but they are designed to provide you max amount of storage space. Also a major thing I've noticed since living here - YOU CAN'T HEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS AT ALL. The apartments are sound proof which I've never experienced before. I don't hear any noise at all ,ever, from any neighbors unless they are in the hallway! It's amazing.

I have nothing but great things to say about The Harper. I have been living here since October 2016. It is by far the best high end apartment building in the area. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful (any maintenance requests - and there aren't many because the building is well constructed - are frequently handled same day); the residents are friendly and respectful of each other; there are no hidden fees or costs - everything is included except for cable/internet unlike A LOT of buildings in this area; there is an awesome fitness center on the top floor with floor to ceiling windows (most places have gyms in the basement or no gym at all); the location is unbeatable in terms of proximity to everything you need-- groceries (Trader Joe's is across the street), restaurants, shopping, dry cleaners, and the subway. Jason is fantastic and does a great job of fostering a sense of community among residents. If I could give the Harper more than five stars I would!
Viri M.
I'm a current resident at The Harper and I love living here. Management is always helpful and responsive. Jason is always a pleasure to speak to and always willing to help. All of the building staff (front staff, maintenance, admin, etc) are always friendly and welcoming. Location can't be beat and great amenities. One of my favorite homes thus far!

I've been living at the Harper for 4 months now and this has been a really great place so far. I love my junior one bedroom apartment. It is very well designed with a lot of storage and perfect equipment. This is the 3rd place I rent in DC and it is clearly outstanding compare to other "luxury" apartments I have lived in before.
The rooftop is fabulous and I also like the view from the gym (located at the same level). This completely changes my jogging experience compare to basement gyms from most buildings.
Of course, you cannot beat the location, it is at the center of everything and I really love the city atmosphere of the 14th/U ST neighborhood.
Pilar A.
Lived here for a little over a year and only had great experiences! Management is very professional, helpful, and responsive. The building was always very clean and safe, security is at the desk 24/7. My transition both in and out of The Harper were smooth, which is when I've had issues in the past with other buildings.
The location is unbeatable, the amenities are fantastic, and the rooftop view of the city is gorgeous.

Great apartments in amazing location. From the beginning of our leasing period until the very end, staff, such as Jason, were incredibly friendly, attentive, and respectful. We moved into another apartment in the same area just because we're hoping to get a pet; otherwise, the prices are competitive for the area, utilities are included (which is unheard of in other luxury apartments we looked at/at the place where we currently reside), and the community is lively. People are really friendly and it's full of young professionals who are excited to invite you to any events they host in the beautiful rooftop/penthouse area.
Just a few cons, though: the community, while lively, can get a little loud at night when entering/exiting the elevators (which were right outside our unit). The walls shield noise from apartment to apartment, but the doors are a little permeable.
More pros: always kept clean, very professional front desk security guards who greet every visitor and ensure they name who they're there for, incredibly accessible location and you can't beat the Trader Joe's across the street and Whole Foods just a few blocks away. I never had to wait more than a day to get a maintenance request fulfilled and properly handled.
Overall an amazing place to live and I'd recommend it to anyone.
