The Harper, located in the center of the lively 14th Street neighborhood, is the perfect residence for Washingtonians with its surrounding restaurants, nightclubs, bars and galleries. Not only is it a building placed in a uniquely vibrant area, but it is also a unique resident building at Keener Management. In addition to all the great amenities The Harper offers our residents, it also has retail space on street level. We are excited to announce that The Harper will be welcoming a new addition to the fashion scene on 14th Street.
In early 2017, Madewell will be the new tenant entering the street-level retail space in The Harper, making it a new fashion spot for The Harper and nearby 14th Street residents. The store will be replacing Universal Gear, the upscale specialty men’s clothing store that used to occupy the space, adding a great new addition to the 14th Street neighborhood.
Madewell is a women’s clothing store offering contemporary clothes for young Millennial Washingtonian shoppers with a taste for a more laid-back look. An extreme contrast to Universal Gear, they offer everything from basic tees to denim to going out and party dresses. Madewell’s parent company is J. Crew.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Oct. 31, so plan out your shopping trip at Madewell’s for the big opening in 2017. We will be sure to keep you updated on its opening as time moves forward.
