The new year is here, which means you can expect new beginnings. In D.C., the new year brings highly-anticipated annual festivals, events and restaurant openings.
D.C. is a melting pot of many different restaurants and bars offering food and libations for every type of D.C. dweller. While many restaurants and bars have closed in the last year, Washingtonians can always look forward to several openings throughout the most lively neighborhoods.
This year is promising for some new restaurants and bars with delectable drinks and food. Here are a few restaurants that have opened thus far:
The butcher guru behind Red Apron Butcher is jumping into the burger scene in Dupont Circle. You can enjoy delicious beef, chicken and veggie patties with toppings of your choice as well as draft beers, select bottles of wine and spiked punches.
Mezcalero is the new spinoff of Mexico City natives Alfredo and Jessica Solis’ taqueria, El Sol, in Logan Circle. Here you can pick from a range of Mexican dishes on their menu, as well as over 50 mezcals and cocktails from their large bar.
This new St. Gregory hotel bar and restaurant in Dupont Circle is a must-try. Not only is it beautifully-designed, but it has an extensive wine list, a glorious cocktail menu and a delicious raw bar platter with oysters, raw tuna, stone crab and tiger shrimp.
There are several other restaurant openings we can look forward to in the months to come, so get your pockets ready and look out for some more announcements of the highly-anticipated restaurants of 2017.
